I doubt this Pep Guardiola's ageing squad would be able to lift up this current champions league competition, asides that, they have inconsistent kdb and also the Ballon d'Or winner Rodri who's currently injured until next season. I thought the return of Ilkay Gundogan would have helped matters but they're still subpar lately. Talks of winning Fenyoord when they're yet to win Tottenham cracks me up. Can we just take the season gradually? City are not even favorites for the premier league and you lots be talking bout the champions league?
It's surprising I guess, when he said Manchester City is the only team that will win the trophy this season? Wow, maybe he is a big fan of Manchester City, so he can be so sure Manchester City will be able to win in the Champion League. Even though in reality, Manchester City have just received consecutive defeats but he is still full of confidence for Manchester City to get the trophy. Because at least, in the Premier League we still have Liverpool who still manage to be consistent with good results, as well as in the Champions League. And also, teams from other leagues are also quite impressive so far and thus, it is not right if you say Manchester City is the only candidate team to win the Champions League trophy, because there are still other teams that also have good performance this season.
If not from a big fan of Manchester City, I don’t think someone will just wake up and alter that word that Manchester City will be the favorite to win the title of the Champions League this season, claiming they are strong. When we all know that this season's Champions League is filled with competition and challenges from many other sides of many other teams. So claiming a best or favorite team that will win the title of this season's Champions League is not that simple that you can just wake up a day and decide. Although it is coming from a club fan, he needs to have that belief and hope in the team, so it is not his fault; he is just motivating himself.
He may not be a Manchester City fan may be he saw Manchester City winning the champions league competition this season in his dreams and his write up is like expressing what he saw in his dream hoping that it will come to a reality lol, now on a more serious note, I think this seasons Champions League is very difficult to predict the favourite in the competition seeing that most of the teams that were seen as the favorite is not doing very well compared to their performance in the past seasons so if any one decides to predict that a particular team would win the Champions League I think they have the right to do so because we can not pick a particular team right now because we are either in the semi finals nor the finals as the case may be.
