It's unlikely that MLS has businessmen as stupid as the Saudis, who signed Neymar knowing his background (and lost literally half a billion dollars). And it's unlikely that Neymar "loves football" enough to go to MLS for a modest salary.
Maybe he will play somewhere else, maybe even in Santos, but I don’t believe that he is capable of returning to an acceptable level + working seriously.
I agree with you, it is very unlikely that MLS will sign a player who is seriously injured and ultimately cannot contribute anything. And I think it seems like Neymar will just go to a smaller league. Even other leagues might still think long term to sign the player.
I just wonder why Neymar doesn't decide to just retire to rest his body which is really not able to compete on the field like before.
Depends on the money if you ask me. He will not be offered 100 like Saudis would offer, but he could be offered like 10-20 million, that much could be made from just jersey sales all around the world, so it is not really expensive for them, plus it is not that he needs to stay healthy for them to win, we already saw Miami finish top of the league, and this was the team at the very bottom before Messi and his teammates joined.

Now, with that transfer, they would be able to actually bring in another star there, and Miami jerseys would be getting a lot more sales, plus we would see more tv income, and we would see a lot more winning, more merchandise, more tickets. Basically these are marketing stuff, so he can sign a deal, and get injured for a year without playing a single game.
