The difference in points is not too big because there are still a lot of matches left this season but the problem now is how Manchester City can get out of their slump after Pep Guardiola's team failed to win a match in 4 consecutive matches and even their performance was very bad.
We have seen how Pep Guardiola can always overcome the problems in the Manchester City team in previous seasons so the same thing is also possible to happen this season, so I think it's all a matter of time and Manchester City can definitely rise and return to the path of competition for the PL title this season.
Sure, the point gap between Manchester city and Liverpool is not much but Manchester city may not be lucky as they have been in past two seasons because Liverpool started in a very good form in all competitions this season, and they know how long they last won the premiership so they will take advantage of their top in the league table and not allow any form of distractions by dropping points. 5 points is not a huge gap but if they can maintain consistency till the season ends then i see no way that Manchester city will equal points or get higher than Liverpool. I strongly believe that Liverpool will win the title this season because they have few players on injury and their key players are not too affected unlike Manchester city than have dropped in form due to injuries that hit some of their important players like Rodri, Kevin De Bruyne, Kyle Walker, and others. Honestly. Pep Guardiola will not find it easy this season.
