I was planning to replace my 1.5 yo smartphone, because the clickyness of its volume button had disappeared. nothing helped.
then I read about this great fix:
... put a little water over the button and push it several times until the clickyness comes back, then suck the water (and probably dirt) out of the button... (did it with a vacuum cleaner). worked like a charm!
never thought a volume button clicking would feel so wholesome....

The sale of halogen bulbs was outlawed by my gov't (well anything that doesn't produce 45 lumens per Watt) and the LED replacements I purchased for my range hood wont light in the fixtures. I'm gonna try your neat little trick! I would use a straw but those have been outlawed as well. Hold my beer!
lol. the straw thing on top of it made me laugh. It's so ridiculous. I have a place in such a country as well. Bought a huge amount of 100V bulbs when they outlawed them.
