No matter how rich I get, I do not think I would be risking throwing away $30 million. I am also sure that the French authorities are making moves after this ridiculous amount of money betted to prevent encouraging their citizens from following in the gambler's footsteps. But I think instead of punishing the platform, the government should focus on how can they 'control' their citizens' gambling habits. Focusing on one platform will not eradicate people who would continue to bet this huge amount of money.
Focusing on one platform may not eradicate the people from gambling but it’ll help serve as a caution and a control note for those that gamble too much and wager very big amount of money into gambling. The fact still remains that if the gambler risks the amount they’re able to lose into gambling, it’s still okay as they are not as addictive to the gambling that they’ll do more than their means when gambling.
The French authorities may take legal action on the casino and may not hold the gambler accountable for it. They can’t stop a gambler from gambling but can limit the way the casinos allow people to wager such big amount into gambling. They could have also taken the legal action because of the reason for the gambling taken, which is for political purposes.
