The new format implemented in the Champions League makes it a little difficult for Real Madrid to achieve maximum results because most of the teams they face are very difficult to beat. Previously they had lost two matches, this number may increase because in the remaining four matches they will face Liverpool and Atalanta. I am very skeptical that they can retain the title because their performance this season is very different from last season. After losing to Milan, they now have to fight hard to improve their position in the standings, but I am also very pessimistic that Real Madrid can win at Liverpool's headquarters.
Well everyone is entitled to their opinion and how they choose to analyzes the beautiful game of football. But on a more realistic view and judging by both team current forms and mood in the dressing room, Liverpool are more equipped to win Real Madrid. I don't know what is making some people think that Real Madrid will win at Anfield. But after taking my time to analyse the game and considering the current realities surrounding both teams Liverpool will come up with a comprehensive win against Madrid.
Although I know that football sometimes can surprise us, with unimaginable outcome of results. But this current Liverpool team has the ability to win Madrid than for Madrid to win them. The only place I agree with you is that Madrid can't retain the champions League title this season because they are not getting the results. Maybe the new champions League format is too much for them to absorb. So far only Liverpool and Barcelona are showing signs of being worthy of the champions League title this season.
