and I wonder how anyone can keep Kramaric in the team considering he kicks the ball like a 5-year-old...?
Have you seen our other forwards? Budimir couldn't score from 2 meters and Matanovic is shooting mindlesly from all positions and needs like 20 chances to score 1 goal. For them, Kramaric is Davor Suker. By the way, Kramaric scored ~250 goals (club and national team combined) in his professional career, making him our most prolific scorer ever after beforementioned Suker. Kramaric may have good statistics from the past, but he is definitely the worst striker you can put in a strike team right now. We can now argue that Budimir is also not a top striker, but for me he is still much more dangerous when he finds himself in a chance to score. Matanovic is still new to the team and should be given a chance, while on the other hand some new players like Kulenovic, who is obviously playing in top form in NK Dinamo this season, should also be given a chance.
As for coach Dalic, he has a contract for 2 years and the goal is to take Croatia to the World Cup - the League of Nations was less important to them anyway, but they managed to reach the next stage of the competition - the only thing waiting for them there is Spain, Germany or France with which will be very difficult to play.
Unfortunately, even if by some miracle we don't go to WC, they wouldn't sack him. He would maybe get sacked if we miss 2 competitions in a row. I'm pretty sure that he would get fired then because you can't possibly present that as a success and the achievement of a goal. The public pressure would simply be too much to keep him just for old glory. There is no doubt that he did great things for the national team, but he should have left when he reached his peak - or at least after the failure at the European Championship - and there was a lot of speculation in the media about this, given that he stated that he was tired of everything.
Still, if I had to choose between Dalic and Slaven Bilic, who is mentioned as a possible successor - I would choose the former, because the latter has shown his
"quality" to such an extent that he can no longer train camels in the desert without getting fired.
