Basically, what Chelsea did in the last two decades has nothing to do with right now, or previous few years. They did win an UCL with Tuchel, that was the last time they were good, since then they have been having trouble and since the takeover from Todd, all they did was increase the asset count, as in get more players. They have like 40+ players, which they need to sell nearly half of, so it didn't look that great.
Chelsea having almost four to players playing each position in their squad was really not appealing and they needed to have sold most of them. I see that they use that for business a lot and that is why they’ve the larger number of players on loan than any other team. This is ridiculous and even after Todd took over, it still remained the same thing for the team as we saw him bought more and more players into the club that they don’t need for now to be utilized in the squad. I heard they have a two starting team eleven this season, one for the premier league and the other one for the remaining competitions they’re participating in this season.
I still think Chelsea is nowhere even remotely close to City, and Liverpool has been doing great this season as well, normally Arsenal was a lot better, but Arsenal had some serious injury trouble this season so they became a bit worse. I do not think it's mockery to compare Chelsea if you look at history, but if you look at this season alone, then Arsenal is the only decent one there.
Comparing Chelsea to Manchester City this season is uncalled for, because Manchester City have been the better team for like five seasons now and Chelsea are no where to be found in terms of great performance expected from them. They have a very good past history in the premier league but if they can’t keep it up now, it’s just okay not to see them as being a more worthy team than Manchester City now.
