Yes, there is short term investment and long-term investment in bitcoin, and the difference is that for a short-term bitcoin investor, they are more like traders who are only more concerned about taking advantage of the current activity in the market, for example, a short-term investor may only be concerned about buying at a DIP and sells when the price skyrockets which is not a good practice for an investor because you can sell at a high price and the price may not DIP for you to buy back again and wait for when the price will rise for you to sell, but a long term investor is basically a hodler who has long term investment target such that they are not moved to sell their hodlings within a short interval no matter how high the volatility is, their major focus is mostly how to own a sizable portfolio for long term future growth. These kind of investors sees bitcoin as an asset that should be stored for value that is the reason why they are confident about the future of bitcoin because they know that they can realize a huge profit in the long run.

You are right about your differentiation on long-term and short-term investor, I will like to add few things to the one you have said already, short-term investors are concerned about immediate profit or short-term profit, they don't care about what Bitcoin will be in the future, though they regret their actions in the future when they see Bitcoin making unimaginable fortune.
These investors have quick money mindset, sometimes it's funny when I see people making mistake in this kind of investment, bitcoin has always been a future investment but some perons choose to go otherwise against the main thing, though we have our decisions to make individually but what matters is the ability for us to do things rightly, personally if am to advise anyone, i will say it bodly that everyone should choose long-term goal, many short-term investors that sold in the past keep regreting their actions, we are just close to $100$ which is a very good mile stone for bitcoin, as it is, I will advise everyone that are still in their early stage to keep accumulating Bitcoin because the $100k price will soon be a history and soon we will be talking about another ATH figure which is the hope we're talking about, so it will be advisable for us not to look at the current price but rather to look at what the future has for us as bitcoiners, for me long-term is always the goal nothing less than that.
