With the way things are going, Liverpool looks like the biggest candidate even more clearly after today. They have the gap at 8 points after today, I do think that City will recover and do better, but I am not sure how much better they will get, will they get 8+ points gap closing levels of better? I do not think so, but you never know in world of football. Still, Liverpool having this much gap is insane, and only within 12 games as well, so we are not even halfway into the season and they already have 8 points gap, that's a lot in such a short amount of game. Lets see how they will go, but I believe we are going to end up seeing Liverpool have a monumental season without many issues.
We can't say anything in advance. The season is still very long. I remember Arsenal was 8 points ahead of Man City in March 2023, but in the end could not win the championship. This could still happen to Liverpool. Although Liverpool are currently leading the rankings, Man City are still the most promising candidates for the championship. Man City's form is not good, they are still in 2nd place and just one wrong move from Liverpool can make Man City close to Liverpool immediately.
The Premier League has just gone through 12 rounds and exciting scenarios are still waiting ahead. It's great that Liverpool is in this position but they certainly can't afford to get complacent. Liverpool needs to keep working hard and fighting to get as many points as possible. Liverpool is the team holding the key to the Premier League championship. If they can beat Man City next week they will surely win the title.
