Everyone has the right to share its personal opinion and I respect GofarChan for the ability to modulate the tone of his message even after losing a big amount (I guess) of money gambling.
I don't think the comparison is fair in general, but there are different degrees in the use and abuse of these substances and activities. There is a lesson to be learned when you make some decisions like trying (hard) drugs or (hardcore) gambling, and the price to pay for these lessons is high sometimes.
I'm not saying that he doesn't have the right to his opinion, but I wonder if he has the
"experience" to compare gambling and drugs in terms of addiction - for which I personally believe that the latter is far worse. Drugs destroy the mind and body, gambling addiction primarily affects the human mind and it is easier to get rid of it with great will and professional help.
Actually both are still bad addictions because the impact is not much different, but yes I seem to agree with you that drug addiction can be much worse than gambling, as you said that the effects of drugs damage the body and reduce a person's ability to think, I also have a friend who is really addicted to drugs, for financial problems of course drugs can also destroy a person's financial situation because the goods are bought with money but the more serious side effects are on the user's body, while gambling most of the impacts of addiction damage a person's financial situation and mind but do not damage parts of a person's body, basically as I said above that both are still bad impacts but maybe it can be said that drugs are much worse and more difficult to overcome because when someone does not consume illegal drugs usually their body will weaken and fall ill.
