The defense of Bayern Munich has never been good and this season every team that plays against them do take advantage of the fact that they're not good and it would be better to get more goals if the opposing team are good with counter. I know Dortmund are not good when it comes to big games like this but this game was suppose to give them a heads up to penetrate the Bayern defense, even Aston Villa took advantage of that and won. To me I expected Dortmund to always show that dominance (that's when Bayern Munich are showing a sign of weakness) when it comes to games like this, I still don't know how long they'll settle for a draw each time they meet, the Barbarians were indeed lucky.
We have seen Dortmund's inconsistent performance in the past matches. So I did not think that Dortmund would get points against Munich. I considered Munich as the favorite. Even though it was Dortmund's home match, I thought Bayern Munich would win this match. But the match was drawn 1-1.
Dortmund did not play an attacking strategy in this match. After taking a 1-0 lead in the 27th minute, Dortmund's target was to end the match 1-0. So Dortmund tried to keep their defense strong. There is no doubt that Dortmund's overall gameplay was good. Even then, Dortmund conceded a goal in the last minute of the match and the match was drawn 1-1.
Bayern Munich is able to perform well in the Bundesliga this season. The inconsistent performances of Leverkusen, Leipzig and Dortmund have made it easier for Bayern Munich to take the top spot in the table.
They never had the mentality of winning that encounter, imagine leading by a goal and they all started defending against a team that loves to fall all out whenever they sees their opponent defending, that's not how to play against Bayern Munich if you want to win. I do blame some of the other clubs who are the contenders for the Bundesliga title, they're not making enough effort to mount pressure on the league leaders (Bayern Munich), they lose and draw when they are suppose to get a complete point. Even the Barbarians are not as good as they used to be, to me I still see those teams from number 1 spot to 5 as equal, non of them has that force of winning straight 5 games without dropping point.
