The biggest fixture in the German Bundesliga was played today at the Signal Iduna Park as Borussia Dortmund hosted current league leaders Bayern Munich and just like many of of predicted, both teams had a difficult game that they had to settle for a draw. I expected better from Bayern Munich than what I saw from them tonight. Borussia Dortmund in my opinion was the better team which was why they were minutes away from claiming all three points before Jamal Musiala scored in the dying minutes to help his team claim a point
The match was a classic. It was an intense and captivating game, both teams showed relentless effort throughout the game. Dortmund started the game strongly, scoring an early goal but they later succumbed to the pressure of the Bayern attackers in the last minutes of the game. IMO Bayern Munich played well but their defense was once again their Achilles' heel. Vincent Kompany made some key changes in the second half that allowed them to regain momentum and get a draw in the game.
The defense of Bayern Munich has never been good and this season every team that plays against them do take advantage of the fact that they're not good and it would be better to get more goals if the opposing team are good with counter. I know Dortmund are not good when it comes to big games like this but this game was suppose to give them a heads up to penetrate the Bayern defense, even Aston Villa took advantage of that and won. To me I expected Dortmund to always show that dominance (that's when Bayern Munich are showing a sign of weakness) when it comes to games like this, I still don't know how long they'll settle for a draw each time they meet, the Barbarians were indeed lucky.
Bayern Munich are at the top of the points table in the German league so it cannot be said that they are performing well but other teams in this league are not performing well which is why we feel that Bayern Munich have improved their performance this season. If Bayan Munich's performances were good we would see them perform well in the Champions League regularly but they have always failed in the Champions League. Bayern Munich played in the last match against Dortmund where Bayern Munich had more chances to win even though they drew this match. I placed a bet on Bayan Munich expecting Bayern Munich to win against Dortmund with consistent performance in the local league but the match result did not go in Bayan Munich's favor due to which I lost money on this bet.
