So when Coinbase sends me a 1099-K or whatever the tax form is, how can I allow for this as a LOSS, not taking a profit?
If you convert fiat to crypto or you convert crypto to fiat, you have to pay tax. Did you convert the money from fiat to ethereum am before you send it? If so you have to pay the tax.
