I sent the address that electrum provided, and it said it was successful on the broker's side. Will it show up in the Coins tab?
Provided that you have received the fund and the wallet is synced, you should be able to see the recevied coin in "Coins" tab.
You can also see the received transaction in history tab and the balance at the bottom left corner of the window.
I'm also seeing in the bottom left corner that it says "Not Connected: Proxy Enabled" Could this be one of the reasons why I'm not seeing things?
Yes, that's a problem.
Click on the circle located at the bottom right corner of the window and disable proxy.
