Bayern Munich losing to Bayern Leverkusen in the DFB cup match they played yesterday showed how important Harry Kane is to the team because if he had featured in that match, there was no way he wouldn't have scored. Red card is a very huge setback for any team in football because it destabilizes the players such that it's always hard to cover up for the player that was sent out of the pitch and even though the Red card was giving to their goal keeper Manuel Neuer, it really affected Bayern's gameplay entirely. Manuel Neuer has really spent enough time at Bayern Munich but he is getting older and the team needs a player who is still young and has the ability to do his job very well as the goal keeper so Bayern Munich should consider replaying the Manuel Neuer. For Harry Kane, i don't see this season passing him by without a trophy because he is really putting all his efforts just for Bayern Munich to succeed and get back their title glory.
I am not sure that Harry Kane could have changed anything about it. Manuel Neuer receiving the red card in minute 17 was essentially game over as it is a game against a team that is extremely strong in counter attacks. If this was against Kiel or another medium strong team, then maybe Bayern could have done it. But playing without your first goalkeeper from minute 17 on is brutal and Leverkusen is a team that knows how to exploit such an advantage.
Bayern still played well and given that they were one man down for about 75 minutes, the ball possession with close to 60% is a strange statistic. I don't know how they made that possible against Leverkusen. But at the end of the day Leverkusen did the right things and it is still a game in the Allianz Arena, which is never easy even when you are one player up.
