In the end Liverpool must be prepared if Mo Salah really leaves. The Red management has not yet responded to Mo Salah contract, meaning there is a possibility that they do not intend to extend it. Not because Liverpool does not need him, but Liverpool wants to try to go through a transition phase at the right time so as not to be left behind by other teams that have already done so.

If Liverpool wants to go through a transition phase, is not including Mohammed Salah a good Idea for the team? For all i know, Mohammed Salah has sacrificed a lot for Liverpool and he has always been on the score sheet whenever he is fit to play and moreover, is not even as if any top team in Europe want to sign him but just the Saudi team that is very much interested in signing him. Whatever Liverpool has become now, Mohammed Salah is among the very few players that made it happen because he was very active for the club when Jurgen Klopp was the team's head coach and even after he left the club, his awesome job is still working for the team and he was literally the coach that bring out the best in Mohammed Salah.

Sacrifice is not what should be in consideration when it comes to contract extensions. Neither should it be important for the club nor for the player and who has sacrificed what. Contracts are there to plan the future and if both agree that the future holds something for everyone if they extend the contract, then they will extend the contract.

You can't say that because a player was good in the past he deserves a world class contract in the future forever. Age is important to consider and the general sentiment of the player too.

I am confident tat they will extend the contract with Mo Salah and he is in good enough shape to be an important player for Liverpool for a few years still. But everything has an expiry date.
