I have always spoken against strategy because it is not a pre-requisite or an important tool when it comes to winning in gambling, especially if what we are talking about is luck based games like slot and casino games..
But I love the context you are taking this from and to, coming up wit strategies to playing such games can be fun indeed, it adds some kind of life to the game, and this is actually good as long as the gambler does not start counting on his or her strategy to help him make better winnings.

I am not doubting the efficacy of strategies in sport betting games, even though I still would say that one strategy in this area also won't change the players styles and tactics on the playing field, but all the same, if it's still all what gamblers do to make their gambling experience more exciting and fun, then it's absolutely good.
Last point you made is underrated imho. Because while strategies never work with slots, or with table games (excluding some blackjacks), they can offer comfort. And when that comfort increases the joy, there's nothing wrong including it. This comfort can come from believing that you will have a lucky day, from your lucky numbers, colors, spirits, dreams, numerology, rabbit's foot, astrology, or magical thinking of any kind.

I don't see any value in them myself, but i too have a "feeling" sometimes of winning big, and while i don't believe it would mean anything, that doesn't really differ it from any other belief. I still enjoy getting that feeling and acting on it by gambling.
