Bundesliga and the Champions League will be more important, especially since they are currently still ahead in points in the Bundesliga standings which I think will benefit them. Munich has not been defeated in 13 matches and it will be very comfortable for them if they maintain their performance until the end of the season. Leverkusen is not as good as last season, so it is an advantage for Munich who is currently still leading.
With the quality of the individuals Leverkusen have I already thought they would be a one-season wonder like Leicester when they won the Premier League. Leverkusen's performance last season was absolutely fantastic and they almost managed to have an unbeaten season in all competitions. At that time with the players they had who were of average quality but the strategy implemented by Alonso made them a very solid team. But this season their performance has returned to being average. I think with the quality of players Leverkusen have it is very difficult to maintain good performance in every match. Other teams have read their tactics and of course have anticipated it.
I think to return to their best performance, Leverkusen may need to strengthen their squad in the transfer market later, especialy to strengthen their defence to be more solid against the opponent attack, currently they face a big challenge to maintain consistent performance due to the rise of Munich in the Bundesliga, and also the tight competition in the UCL which does require Alonso to make adjustments to tactics, strategies and also a better game scheme at this time.
