Although Ian Garry found good shots from long range, Shavkat won the match easily, which is what the referees decided anyway.

The Shavkat vs Garry fight reminded me of the Khamzat vs Burns fight where it reminded everyone that Shavkat and Chimaev are still human and have holes to beat. Shavkat is very strong in wrestling but Garry was able to find weaknesses and almost got Shavkat into a rear naked choke. Crazy fight. I favored Shavkat but I almost thought Shavkat was finished when Garry tried the rear naked choke. I think if it was any other fighter it would have been over.
