Fenerbahçe actually did not play badly, it was just that their attacks were less successful. Bilbao's defense was quite solid and Fenerbahçe players did not get many chances.
Even after Dzeco came in, they had to accept that one of their players had to leave the match early. Being two goals behind at the start of the first half would make it very difficult for Fenerbahçe to catch up due to the lack of players.
