After asking whether we can still pursue careers in industries impacted by AI, another question arises: Which industries have been destroyed by AI? I firmly believe that AI can never replace the most creative and top-tier talents. What it truly undermines are those who fail to adapt, becoming overly reliant on AI for work and losing their edge. What bothers me the most is the dependency syndrome AI can create. People—myself included—sometimes feel guilty for using tools like ChatGPT to do the thinking or writing for us. It's a kind of laziness. Does anyone else feel the same way?
It's hard to judge and full of many nuances. Take writing for example, there have been many instances where AI has failed or presented false facts because of the way it analyses information. You will always want someone intelligent enough to recognise and independently fact check information, so the role might switch to oversight rather than actual writing. Same goes for art - you might get simple logos created now, but AI can fail on more sophisticated pieces of work. The same will be true of programmers, who might find it eases the work load but an architect still needs to direct the design and tailor the small things.
