animals and humans have a range of emotions, and both have issues publicly displaying it
EG most guys when sad, depressed or upset would still tell people 'im ok'
but in both animals and humans, if you are observant enough you can tell, because you will notice a change in how much they vocalise and how much they sleep and how energetic they act in situations
Yes, but. Is that the animal showing emotion? Or is it the owner interpreting animal logic as emotion?
