Maybe this is related to their thinking of selling Rashford? However he is playing as LW the most this season. Therefore I don't know why they plan to sign a 3rd striker for the team.
If they are thinking of parting ways with Zirkzee or Hojlund then I would understand. But I didn't see any rumour about these players to leave either.
I believe Vlahovic is more talented than both of those two though.
But if I were in their shoes, I would sign a LW instead of parting ways with Rashford. A really reliable one I mean.
Manchester United already have Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee in the team as top 9 strikers so what's the need to sign Dusan Vlahovic again in January? I don't want to believe that this speculation is true and is it's actually true, then I think Manchester United management lacks the good scouting and technical team. Manchester United I know are trying to build a more formidable team under current manager Ruben Amorim but that I don't think should force them to start making unnecessary signings. Vlahovic without doubt is a good striker but I don't consider him a better striker than Rasmus Hojlund who's currently the club's no.9
It is not about having the quantities of Strikers, it is about the quality and how the management are working towards the future. Hojlund i can accept to be a competent striker for the team but Zirkzee does not yet fit into the squad. The best thing for the team to do is grooming players for the future, from the look of things the most contenders for the past years are currently having issues with the kind of consistent abilities to help them keep the record, Man City are beginning to shred same with Liverpool and very soon there might be vacancy at the top of the League where we no longer can predict on whom will win the title or see one particular team win them consecutively.
They should take a bit from Chelsea, i am confident that we won't be seeing Chelsea trade any of their starting XI because they already went ahead accumulating just enough young players that can work over time not initially at this spot. Maresca said it, they are not ready or competing for the title at this stage, clearly next season might be them with any other team to compete because they are already laying the foundation of perfection which we are already feeling the energy.
