The match ended 1-1 with balanced play from both teams. Lille found the equalizer in the 87th minute. Marseille was dreaming of winning until the 87th minute, but after that minute they started to look for ways to save the equalizer. Because Lille played really effectively. Also Marseille got a red card in the extra time. Although this did not affect their playing style much, both teams got a point at the end of the match. I think this is a good success for Lille because they managed to get a point from a difficult away game.
For Marseille this is a fairly disadvantageous result because the home game should have given them three full points to secure second place in the standings even though they are currently still in second place with the same points as Monaco. Lille struggled to keep up with the game aimed at by Marseille but they have good defense skills so Marseille had difficulty scoring goals.The standings have not changed where Marseille is still in second place and has the same number of points as Monaco in third place. But the draw gives PSG the opportunity to widen the points gap again because PSG have not played their 15th match and their chances of winning the match are quite big.
This is, why I always say that the mentality possessed by PSG rival teams in Ligue 1 is very bad, because it is not the difference in squad quality and finance that makes them slump, but not have the mentality and consistency to compete is actually the main reason for them cant to break PSG dominance so far, when PSG gets a series of negative results in the league, shouldn't that be an opportunity for Monaco and Marseille to get closer to PSG?
But in fact when the hope is open, they are also unable to take advantage of it and instead get negative results from the team they can actually beat.
