I don't think so because every player will definitely get conditions that are not according to their wishes and usually they will go through bad times in certain conditions.
Harry Maguire is starting to improve and he is showing a big change after getting criticized as one of the worst players at Manchester United and he is learning from his mistakes to show an attitude as one of the mature players.
That needs to be seen as a form of improvement and maybe what happened with Onana is the same because in general we see him often making fatal mistakes but over time he will become the best goalkeeper at Manchester United.
Every player must have experienced difficult times, but the support and encouragement of teammates will make them better and most importantly, training can make them change for the better, not punishing but not providing solutions.
