I always say the same thing, nobody will say "I wish I worked harder" on their death bed, and that's why I try to put work after my life, and not before it. So if you focus on making money too much, either you will make a lot of money or you won't, and in both cases you will not lived a good life. For example, these days I have been spending much more time with my wife, she is in a situation where she needs me more than ever, and I spend time with her, take her places, go to gym with her, basically doing something everyday, even if it's just putting a cup of coffee and chatting together for hours.
This causes me to have some hard time for my work, but it does recover her feelings and emotions better and she is incredibly thankful to me for being there for her when she needs it the most. If I was someone who focused on making money a lot, and like have a job and then side gigs and all that, then I am pretty sure she would be in much more desperate situation and feeling worse. Always pick life over work.
Besides, money can never guarantee happiness.
