Any gamblers who kept staking their money on Manchester City by doubling and tripling their bet amount in 1x2 would have already incur huge amount of losses at this moment. Based on the last 11 matches which Manchester City played in both the English Premier League and Uefa Champions League, they had only won once against Nottingham Forest and suffered a total of 8 losses and 2 draws. I guess Pep Guardiola has truly paid a huge price for this horrible run as he did not actively seek out new transfers of players into Manchester City before the start of this season.
I think Pep Guardiola got carried away by how good his team was at the time that he started being audacious with his sales and not bothering to add more players like you said and I'm sure he's a bit regretful that he sold off Cole Palmer to Chelsea and now that Rodri is out injured, he doesn't have a good substitute for him because he refused to use Kovacic very well and now that he's suffering, it's looking as if he wasn't the coach that led City to win the EPL four times in a row.
