You'll need the private key that is stored on the coin. The coin usually has a qr code or private key printed on it and you can use those to import the bitcoin into you wallet.

Here's how to do it:
1. Find the private key: this is often behind a tamper evident sticker or hidden under a scratch off area
2. Open electrum
3. Import the private key: click wallet -> private keys -> import. If it is qr code, click qr code icon next to the import button.
4. Check you balance: this is to know if you actually have 0.001BTC
