If Ver renounced his US citizenship only in 2014 and yet he accumulated his vast wealth in Bitcoin years earlier as a US citizen without paying taxes, is he not liable for tax evasion?
Per US tax codes he IS liable for tax evasion. When renouncing his US citizenship he also owes an 'exit tax' (several other countries have the same thing) and even more to the point - he is liable per the tax codes as they were during the years in question. Just because the codes have changed since then make no difference tho Ver is insisting it's 'not fair' because penalties for some things were lowered since then.
Thousands of people from my tiny country sell their houses and pay thousands of dollars to migrate to the USA and get US citizenship. It's really a horror if the US citizen has to pay taxes even if they work outside of the USA and even in that case when they renounce their US citizenship, so I don't understand, why so many people fight to get US citizenship. Are there really such big salaries in the US that they are worth it?

Well, I don't feel sorry for this guy. A guy who created an alternative bitcoin, shitcoin cash, and tricked people into buying his making them believe they were buying "the real" bitcoin. He has an account on the forum, look at his trust.

No wonder that the disgusting vermin of Kruw supports him, they are a match made in hell.
I don't feel sorry for him, I'm even grateful that he is getting the taste of something that's similar to his medicine. He has been using the advantage of owning Bitcoin.com to earn millions of dollars. Thanks to Roger Ver, lots of people accidentally invested their money in Bitcoin Cash instead of real Bitcoin and lots of people sent Bitcoins from their addresses to BCH addresses. He lied to so many people that he deserves to get a sentence for his lies. Everyone should get a taste of their own medicine.
