I think Pep Guardiola already knows the extent to which this situation has brought his team to and can only hope things turn around for the better at the club but that notwithstanding, Manchester city's survival in the champions league solely depends on how quick they can recover from their slumber because with these kind of shabby performances they are putting up recently, it only spells more defeats and a possible threat to their chances of playing in the Champions league next season due to their position on the table because if they continue losing points then they might end up on the Europa League spot or the conference league spot at the end of the season.
Guardiola now claimed at a press conference that he is not good enough and he is doing his job subpar. I think he is playing around because he knows that everyone else in the room thinks otherwise, but maybe for now he has a point. His type of tactic or strategy in a game is too easy to anticipate. He knows that he has to change something about it and maybe he does have a point here indeed. For now it is clear that not only the results are wrong, but the whole football that he wants his players to play. You don't stop winning because of a lack of luck. That could be the case for a couple of games, but Manchester City is in a serious crisis.
Pep Guardiola has always been a smart guy who knows how to play the mind game a lot, right now he's trying to sound modest, maybe that's his own way of handling the pressure that is coming from the press and the fans, but on the other hand I think he's just trying to divert everyone's attention and perhaps try to make some adjustments in the team that would restore his image and that of the entire team. For strategy I am unsure about Gardiola not knowing when to change his strategy, it's just a challenging period for City and I believe they will recover and take back their place.
