After Luis Enrique took over at PSG, we didn't really see the kind of change we expected from PSG. The team has improved since Luis Enrique took charge at PSG but the team did not buy any players during the transfer season, instead they sold a dozen players from PSG. I waited until the last day of that transfer window for a big deal for PSG but nothing happened. I don't know what Luis Enrique's plan is but if they could get some quality players in their team in that transfer window, maybe they would have had better success this season in the Champions League. The Champions League tournament requires good quality players with skills which PSG do not have at the moment and unless PSG have good quality players they will not do well in the Champions League.
They bought Neves from Benfica, but I agree that they did not make any big signings for attack, which was a usual thing for PSG before. Last season PSG also achieved quite good results without signings, and apparently Enrique decided that he could continue this season without strengthening the attack, but they lost Mbappe and this became a very noticeable setback for their attack.
To be fair, Enrique can't do much with what he has neither, he can of course win ligue one and that's not really shocking, they are just by far the best team in that league so winning it isn't really surprising, even you and I could make that happen. However, he can't do much at UCL because he doesn't really have what it's required to beat teams there; a system that works.
I mean that's not all on Enrique, this team never had it, it doesn't have a culture, every team has a culture, and PSG is just bunch of players who worth a lot, put together. They are not even a team, they are just individuals who are talented, we have Barcelona with passing, we have Real Madrid with physicality and out running and powering everyone, we have Unai Emery and everywhere he goes counter attacking, we have Atletico and Simeone with Park the Bus, and many other teams have culture like that, even smaller nation smaller teams have their own culture, but PSG doesn't have that at all, they are just bunch of talented players thrown at the field and hoped for the best.
