Maybe what it means is that there are a lot of people who work only for money, and the money they make is used to buy what they want and have fun, without realizing that they will lose their jobs because one day they will be fired or no longer use their services, so they end up getting nothing after the income chain is cut off.
Unlike the rich who work for money and the money is used as a tool to earn other money by improving skills and others to make themselves much better at making more money.
The sentence is sarcastic for people who focus on working to earn money and spend it on fun without having long-term thinking. IMO
I would say it's more about the fact that we are going to end up not enjoying it and that could be a problem as well. You focus too much on making money, and then you will not be able to spend it that much. Like recently, Elon Musk reached 400 billion dollars networth, that's what they are saying but what does the dude do? He works, he tweets, he plays diablo, that's it. That's not really something that requires 400+ billion dollars networth, I ask what this made him gain, like what does he do that I can't do, and people say "well he owns tesla", but what does that change him on his day to day life, like he works more than me and he doesn't enjoy life and just miserable? That's not life, I have a better life in that sense.
I have seen many rich people who are on their yacths, going around the world, having fun, partying, buying amazing collection items, visiting the best places of the world, THATS rich life, so you gotta learn the difference.
Each person does have that their own perspectives on life on which there are those individuals who are really that mindful when it comes into the things that they've been dealing specially in talks on acquiring or getting or making money on which we know that this could be achieved through having a work or having some business or investment on which of course this is something that cant really be able to assure out on how long you will be able to last up because not all we will really be ending up on the right way. Its normal that we will be that focusing on making money because we do know that we wont really be able to survive at the time that we wont be able to earn on which this is something which is really that very standard, Dont make yourself that just focusing on making all the time though since it will be having its cons too if you wont really be that careful. There are those people who dont really care up that much sa long they can make money then this is what their main priority. Its always been better that you should really be wary about on the actions that you are taking because everything which is too much is really that bad and if you arent that good when it comes on managing things then you might be ending up on being excessive on which this could really be that resulting into imbalances in between money and time or other priorities in life.
