Bayern performance is extraordinary this season and I don't think that they are scared of any club be it Leverkusen or not. Leverkusen that has struggled to pick form and Bayern has been in form since the beginning of the season. It's only if Bayern drop form and start losing their matches before Leverkusen can take over the first position from them.
"Extraordinary" is a bit of a strong word, but yeah, Bayern is very solid this season. Their average points per game in the Bundesliga is 2.40. For comparison, it was 2.12 last season and 2.09 in 2022-23 when they defended their title with only 71 points.
Their Champions League performance is a bit less impressive, as so far, they have failed to get to the top 8 and be guaranteed to advance to the next round without having to go through play-offs. I expect them to get there though, as the only two games left in the League stage are against Feyenoord (away) and Slovan Bratislava (home) so they should easily earn at least 4 points, but possibly even 6, in which case, they'd almost definitely end up in the top 8.
Maybe I would say more, with a new coach who was initially quite doubtful by many people, they were able to have a good game and that answered some doubts about Vincent Kompani. In terms of squad, they are the team with the best squad in the Bundesliga in my opinion, so this is something very natural when they can show a very good game. And if I remember correctly, their failure last season was not entirely their fault. Because in terms of game I think they were still within reasonable limits, but other teams like Leverkusen who performed very extraordinary and beyond expectations. Just imagine, who would have thought they would end the league without a defeat?
