The new format only favored Liverpool, because they are the first on thr table and won their matches. A lot of factors also affected the big clubs including the new format. This season big clubs were hit with injuries and it swept them of their feet because they weren't prepared for it. Clubs that we didn't expected are the ones surprising us.
Actually, if you look at it as a whole, the new format also depends on the level of readiness of each team in undergoing it because Liverpool is also a big team and indeed deserves to be called big, but Liverpool was able to make adjustments to the new format this season so that Liverpool was unbeaten in six consecutive matches this season in the Champions League. Because the level of performance of a team will also be very different when there are core players who start to get injured and of course this is influenced by the level of intelligence of the coach in rotating players in each important match in order to have players who are always fit and not easily injured or tired.

Liverpool have been consistent in both the Premier League and the Champions League. They are strong in defense and sharp in attack, we saw that kind of team situation in Man City and Madrid before. But now they are having problems in the team and making their performance decline. Whether it is because of player injuries or the coach's tactics that can no longer be used. What is clear is that the loss of one team will make an advantage for the other team, and Liverpool benefit from the decline in the performance of their competitors.
