Why though? If your aim is to win the league you'll need to take points from your rivals too. Especially when they have a 4-point gap atm. Aiming for a draw feels like they don't have the confidence before the match even begins. I don't know what Alonso's or Leverkusen's goal this season is, but I'd be disappointed if they're just aiming for a top 4 and playing safe every now and then instead of trying to win a second Bundesliga trophy.
Exactly! Why would Xabi Alonso see his team weaker than them and play according to that? He would always play for 3 points that's for sure. Leverkusen are a different team from now on. Not a loser team in the Bundesliga.

Maybe they first started this season badly but now they are back in solid shape being only 4 points away from the leader.
