I agree completely with you that gamble is truly a good short cut to the part that lead to poverty because if you check the rate of wining in Gambling related activities the winning margin is nothing to compare with the losing percentage because with the rate people has been Gambling if everyone has been wining like that the rate of poverty must have been reduced to an extent in the society, morally speaking if you win big on Gambling you can't comfortable advise your younger generation to go into gambling when you're been asked of advise as an elderly person so Gambling is something that people should not put all their hopes on
If there is a short cut to poverty, there must be a short cut to wealth. One can not exist without other. Gambling can be one of a shorts cut to poverty, but not for everyone. There are million ways to lose money. If people have following logic: gambling means losing money or people lose often in gambling, then it is a short cut to poverty. Then cryptocurrencies are also short cut to poverty, as people lose on trades, get scammed or hacked.
Shortcut to wealth isnt something that will really be easy to obtain but becoming that broke or being in poverty will really be just that too easy and thats why its really that important that you should really know on what you are dealing into. Gambling is really that shortcut to poverty and if you wont really be that careful into your decisions on how you would gonna deal with it then you will basically be ending up on being poor because of gambling. Its easy to gamble and spend up money but getting poor is something that will really be that too easy to happen into someone if they will really be that careless into t he actions that they are making.
If someone does not know how to handle with the money, then whatever he does will be a shortcut to poverty. I can only agree that gambling is a short cut to poverty, as it accepts any bets and allows to bet as much as you want; it does not have any protection mechanism. But name it as a real short cut? I think you gamble and you are not poor. I gamble and not poor. Many here are the same, not poor. If it was a real short cut, we would be already poor. Dont you think?
@Agbe Gambling is a game of chance. It has helped some people and it has ruined some people who don't understand its concept. Therefore, I don't agree that gambling is a shortcut to poverty because there are many things (like alcohol, smoking, hard drugs, being an enthusiast of luxury lifestyle, etc.) that are shortcuts to poverty but the main reason behind it is lack of knowledge and wisdom.
@bakasabo Yes, gambling can be a shortcut to poverty when the gamblers don't accept the facts about gambling or don't have the required knowledge to gamble profitably. However, gambling platforms don't allow playing the game endlessly despite heavy losses like years ago, and there are a lot of casinos with user protection mechanisms now.
@Zadicar Everything that provides great opportunity must also have great risk.
