What really catches the eye are those horrific mistakes in the defense or the midfield. They have made these mistakes in the Premier League against Manchester United and it lost them the game in the last few minutes. They conceded two late goals against Brighton and it lost them the game. And not to mention the game against Feyenoord when they let a 3 goals lead slip through their hands within 15 minutes due to mistakes. Or it began with a mistake and then it became a snowball effect against them.
Man City who were so powerful in the EPL and even the UCL, are now experiencing a worse decline in performance than ever imagined. Guardiola must be more than just a coach compared to previous times in his career to make Man City rise. The problem faced by Man City is not only the player injury factor, but almost every line seems uncoordinated with each other, the attack line also seems to have lost its killing instinct, this can be seen from the results achieved in the last few matches.
I have written Man City off as the favourites in UCL, not because I underestimate them, but with this kind of performance it is very difficult to compete with other strong teams.
