Although it may sound a bit "preachy," I really feel that society has become somewhat pathological. Money seems to have become the only standard by which people are measured, and everyone is desperately chasing wealth, as if without money, you have no value. Meanwhile, the things that should be most cherished—character, sincerity, effort—are being pushed to the sidelines. People are so focused on counting their money that they forget what truly matters: how they live and the kind of person they become.
Don't forget, money is just a bonus that comes after the realization of self-worth.
the thing is, money is is abstraction of power, without money you can't really be yourself, you might try to do good for the world but without money, you can only do so much, so people seek money first and do things they want to do later.
just see those philanthropist, the first thing they do to become like that is hoarding money as much as they can only then their charitable activity can be amplified and can actually make differences, I personally see no problem with people trying to secure their financial life and make money first. it's just how it is with the current world right now. as of the fact that character, sincerity, and effort being sidelined, it's been like that since long time ago, it just highlighted more these days.
