There have been many players that choose money over passion therefore if Victor Osimhen wants to go play for money, he should go ahead as I don't think there's more that he can do to win other honours to his name. He might win the league that he joins and also win the championship league but that's all as I don't think he can win the Ballon d'or. Victor Osimhen is from a poor country and his family were also poor and although he has made some money, it's always good to make more so your family don't suffer again even when you retire from playing. He should make a decision that's best for his family and not only put his own goals into consideration.
I find this very irritating. Very frequently I come across posts saying that playing in the Saudi Professional League is evil and the players do that just because of money. I never saw such posts when he was representing Charleroi or Napoli. Playing for European clubs is some sort of charity and playing in the Saudi league is immoral? What sort of logic is this? Playing football is similar to any other profession. Osimhen chose the European clubs because the salary was higher. Else he would have stayed in the Nigeria Premier Football League. And he wants to move to Al Ahli, because his salary will increase further.
There is nothing evil about playing in the Saudi Professional League. It still the same football and thesame rules. But you will agree that the quality of the game in SPL is far below what we see in European Leagues. And if a player want to win world recognized personal awards he won't have the oppurtunty to win it in the Gulf League. The bottom line is that most players will not move SPL if they have offers from clubs in Europe. The only motivating factor will be money. That is why most players who move there are those who has passed thier prime.
