My assumption is that the project was not abandoned, but rather sold to someone who is not capable of running it. If everything was really on autopilot, I think everything would collapse very quickly and it wouldn't last this long. It seems logical to me that the owner decided to get out of the business after about 10 years, but it turned out the way it did.

Do you have any news about this or is it just your assumption? Why would the original team of freebitco would want to sell the business that is giving them a lot of revenue? Unless the freebitco owners have a very valid reason, they should not be selling this site. And also the person/team who bought this business must have paid a huge amount, how can they just let go this business without getting the return on their investments Huh

You are asking me something to which you already have an answer - I assume that the people who have been working on this project for some time are not the same ones who have been working on it for the past ten years - it is logical that the old team would fix everything within a reasonable time.

Why would someone sell a profitable business (if it still is) after 10 years? Well, for the same reason why many successful companies are sold and change owners, or simply because the owner has made a lot of money and wants to enjoy retirement.
