Miming is quite profitable  but it demands lots of resources  from you which you may not be able to afford,  this is why we have more people trading than mining.  If you are still unsure about the option to go for, or you don't think you have enough resources to mine or trade, you can as well just buy and hodl. Almost everyone hodls bitcoin so, you won't be doing anything different from other people.

I will also advice that you take out time to read about both mining and trading. Understand what it takes to mine or trade and try to experiment any of the options you will finally settle for. Don't just get carried away by the profits you will make, check your capability also.
