Nope, they don't want to kill the economy, as a matter of fact, if the economy has any significant problem, even the government will also be affected, it might not be as bad as what the poor man will be suffering in the populated society but that doesn't mean the government will not be affected in their own way. The government have to keep the country running and they also need the money to do so, increasing tax is due to the situation of the economy too, my concern is that the tax should not just go into the pockets of corrupt politicians but should be put into effective use to help the society too. We pay tax, the government uses the money to also do many things in the country which can still be beneficial to the citizens. Civil servants will get paid, basic amenities will be put in place, politicians that contribute to the affairs of the country will also be paid, many things that the government will do with those tax mate, if not for some other sources of revenue that a country could have, the tax rate would even be higher.
