I had one eye monitoring for auroras last night but while the CME arrived a little before midnight UTC, it wasn't as spectacular as I had hoped since it was more a glancing blow. High latitude viewers got a show (think Norway, Iceland...) but there wasn't much for the rest of us. That being said, Petr Horalek in Oravska Lesna Slovakia managed to capture a faint aurora backdropping the New Year fireworks:

The Kp index is still increasing so auroras might be (more) visible this evening in Europe and (fingers crossed) perhaps North America. I saw only clouds and rain last night and now it's snowing here so... good luck to the rest of you!
