I actually want to believe that Bayern Munich knew it much earlier before now that they are going to have Leverkusen as their biggest rival and contender for the trophy this season so making sure they are going to be able to stay ahead of them was one thing that was supposed and going to be their priority this season and now the the distance has been closed to the point is just four point difference is some how disturbing but then Munich still have the chance to still staying ahead.
I think that for Bayern it all comes down not to the confrontation with Bayer, but to the task of winning the Bundesliga, and despite the fact that Bayer is now the closest pursuer of Bayern and they have a very good winning streak, I do not think that Bayer has a great chance to defend the champion's title. It will not be easy for Kompany to confront Alonso, because given the victory last season, Alonso has more experience.
Bayern Munich this season has a new rival in the trophy competition, in the last decade they usually always compete with Dortmund at the top of the standings. So this season competition is clearly different, this will be a historic season for Leverkusen in defending their first trophy.
