Poverty is a disease and I don't believe anyone will choose being poor over being rich. That choice can't be for humanity or humility, everybody needs money for at least their basic needs and wants and if people are so satisfied with the money they have, nothing stops them from extending it to the needy and the less privileged others.

This can further buttress your point and also prove that money is never a waste and has no disadvantage whatsoever if you are wise owning and using it.
