In general, I think I have never had a positive experience when comes to lotteries, so perhaps my opinion could be biased..Though, it is mathematically true that the most tickets one has, it becomes more likely one could big bigger or get closer to the jackpot.
I think it would depend on the type of lottery we would be talking about to begin with, if it is a lottery which allows gamblers to win smaller prizes by scoring a few numbers during the drawing process, then it would be positive to buy more than one ticket, perhaps two or three would be ideal for the sake of increasing chances.
Though, of the lottery focuses simply on the jackpot as one prize, the chances are still neglectable whether we have only one or have several tickets.
To each their own, but I would not play lottery nowadays.
