While when everyone is focusing on Champions trophy, we have forgotten about the IPL 2025 coming soon. I was thinking can Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) able to win the IPL trophy this season. Virat Kohli playing here since 2008 since IPL starts since Virat Kohli's first season in IPL, since a lot of years but did not leave them maybe until he would not help him get the title. Their best team was in 2016 or 2017 when Virat Kohli team took RCB to the semi final. At that time they had a prime team, prime players like Abid Villers, Chris Gayle, Chahal, Virat Kohli, Travis Head, KL Rauhl and others. But now only Virat Kohli is left here and no one else.
Check this. IPL has a long way to go:
The media rights revenue for IPL is huge, but it is still a fraction of the same with other big leagues around the world, such as the National Football League (NFL), English Premier League (EPL) and National Basketball Association (NBA). And given the smaller size of economy in India, it is likely to remain that way at least for the next 2-3 decades. So what can be done to make cricket comparable to football in terms of financials? Diversification is the key IMO, and the ICC need to shift their focus away from India and invest in regions such as Americas and East Asia.
