Wow, homemade or not, there's no way I'd have a 97 after pretty much any meal I'm eating, and pasta, not happening... I'd be having a great day if I were even starting meals at 97, your body is definitely handling sugar better than mine. Are you on a prescription?
One thing struck my mind today, so I thought to share it with you. May be it's my regular walk that is helping my body to handle sugar in better way despite of diabetes.
In my opinion, it's the walking that helps you the most.
I'm not a diabetic and no one in my family ever had this problem, but I have made it a habit to walk at least 10 km / day. Been doing it for the last 25 years. My A1C = 4.6 steady, and has been like this forever. My morning blood pressure is steady at 11/7. I don't take any medication. I eat anything I like, even "unhealthy" foods (pizzas, burgers, sweets) on occasion (not regularly).
Keep walking. It's probably the best exercise you can do to your body.
