Previous T20 format competition was finished among New Zealand squad against Sri Lanka squad now ODI format competition has begun and first match of ODI competition was completed today among them. Sri Lanka squad has begun the match first with batting inning and their members managed to collect 178 scores as a defend seem low quality scores they collected. Matt Henry supported their squad in bowling with picking 4 batter wickets also other two Nathan Smith and Jacob Duffy displayed amazing performance with picking 2 and 2 wickets respectively. Rachin Ravindra and Young both made strong performance with collecting 45 and 90 scores.
In fact, the New Zealand team performed a little better than I expected in terms of performance in this match, especially from their batting line-up.
The way the New Zealand team was progressing from the start, I thought they might win this match by zero wickets, but in any case, they completed the target of 178 runs with the loss of just one wicket. I really don't understand why Matt Henry was given the Player of the Match award over Will Young who played a good innings of 90 run from 86 bowl in this match. Although from my perspective both of them contributed almost the same, Will Young will go ahead.
